You pasted a TikTok link, pressed download — and nothing happened. Do not worry: almost every TikTok download problem has a simple cause and a simple fix. Work through this checklist in order; most people are downloading again within a minute.
1. The Link Is Incomplete or Wrong
The most common problem of all. If you copied a shortened, broken or partial link, the downloader cannot find the video. Go back to TikTok, open the individual video, tap Share → Copy link, and paste the fresh, complete link into SnapTTK without editing it.
2. The Video Is Private or Deleted
Public downloader tools can only access public videos. If the creator made the video private, friends-only, or deleted it, no online downloader will be able to save it — this is a TikTok restriction, not a tool failure.
3. The Video Opened in a Player Instead of Downloading
This is normal browser behaviour, not an error. When the video starts playing in a new tab, tap or click the three-dot menu on the video player (bottom-right) and choose Download. On desktop, you can also right-click the video and choose “Save video as…”
4. Your Internet Connection Dropped
Large HD videos need a stable connection. If a download stalls or fails halfway, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, move closer to your router, and try again.
5. Browser Cache or an Outdated Browser
An old cache can serve a broken page. Refresh the page first; if that fails, clear your browser cache or try a different, up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
6. Your Phone Storage Is Full
If the download reaches 100% but the file is nowhere to be found, check your storage. A nearly full phone silently fails to save new files. Delete something you no longer need and download again.
7. You Cannot Find the Downloaded File
On Android, downloads normally land in the Downloads folder (check the Files app or your browser’s Downloads section). On iPhone, look in the Files app under Downloads, and check Safari’s download list by tapping the icon next to the address bar. Our device guides explain this for the iPhone downloader and the PC downloader.
8. The Download Works but the Quality Looks Low
A downloader can never deliver higher quality than the original upload. If the creator uploaded a low-resolution video, every copy of it will be low-resolution too. Always download from the original video link rather than from a re-upload for the best result.
9. Temporary TikTok or Server Problems
Occasionally TikTok itself is slow or partially down, and every downloader is affected at the same time. Wait a few minutes and try again — this fixes itself in the vast majority of cases.
Still Not Working? A Quick Reset Checklist
- Copy a fresh link directly from the video (Share → Copy link)
- Confirm the video is public
- Refresh the page or switch browser
- Check your internet connection and free storage space
- Wait a few minutes and retry
If a specific public video still fails after all of this, tell us through our contact page — reports help us keep SnapTTK working for everyone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the download button do nothing?
If the video opens in a player instead of downloading, this is normal browser behaviour. Tap the three-dot menu on the video player and choose Download, or right-click and choose “Save video as…” on desktop.
Why does it say invalid link?
Almost always because the copied link is incomplete or points to a profile, hashtag or search page. Copy a fresh link directly from the video via Share → Copy link, and paste it without editing.
Can I download a private or deleted TikTok video?
No. Public downloader tools can only access public videos. If the creator made the video private or deleted it, it cannot be downloaded.
Why is my downloaded video low quality?
A downloader can never deliver higher quality than the original upload. If the creator uploaded a low-quality video, the download will match it.
What should I check first when a download fails?
Copy a fresh link directly from the video, confirm the video is public, refresh the page or switch browser, and check your internet connection and free storage space.
